Why Ugborough?
Character
Set in the undulating uplands in the South Hams of South Devon, the village has views south through the River Erme valley towards the sea and to the north towards Dartmoor.
The Church of St Peter, dating from 1121 and once known as the Cathedral of the South Hams, is a dominant feature of the landscape for miles around.
Roads, lanes and footpaths radiate out from the church and central square into the surrounding farmland and countryside, where hedgerows, woodlands and streams provide ‘super highways’, food and shelter for a wide range of wildlife.

Community

The village has two pubs with restaurants, a village hall, primary school, preschool and a post office in the church weekly.
The village hall is an active community hub, fortnightly hosting Ugborough Sustainable Saturdays, where people meet and sell local produce, as well as activities throughout the week such as pilates, yoga, badminton and an after-school club.
The village’s annual fair has been held in the village square since the 1750s. There is also a small playground for younger children and a school playing field.
Connection
Within close proximity of Ugborough is the bustling town of Ivybridge with all modern amenities including leisure centre, health centre and Ivybridge Community College.
With easy access to the A38 expressway and Ivybridge mainline railway station, there is also excellent communication with Plymouth, Exeter and beyond.
